United Armenian students

The concept of a body of united Armenian students in the United States and particularly in California is one that goes back several decades. Organizations such as the CSUN ASA and UCLA ASA, which have been in existence since the 1960s and 1970s have always sought ways to cooperate with each other and other Armenian student organizations. In this capacity, a body called the Inter-Collegiate Council was created in the 1990s. Unfortunately, it did not stand the test of time due to a weak foundation and lack of understanding on what the dynamics of inter-Armenian student cooperation entail.

In 2002, at the un-official All-ASA meeting, the CSUN ASA proposed to establish a formal organization of united Armenian students called the All-ASA Council. The proposal was accepted by the vast majority of Armenian student associations and organizations in California and led to the establishment of the All-ASA, formally known as the Confederation of All-Armenian Student Associations.

The All-ASA has realized dozens of projects in the last few years and works in modes of committees. The more well-known of these committees is the All-ASA Genocide Recognition Committee, which organizes activities throughout the year in support of the universal recognition and affirmation of the Armenian Genocide in and around Los Angeles.
